Hunting With The .264 Winchester Remington Model 700 with a Kreiger Rifle Barrel
One Of The Finest Rifle Calibers That I Personally Enjoyed Shooting
I have shot a few shells from several .264 rifles using ultra light barrels, that have never ever let me down.
Accuracy, is just fine and anyone that wants one of the best running shot rifles, has my blessing. The best part of shooting this ultra-speed rifle, is that I can get less recoil from the cartridge and this is what I really appreciate. I hate being cut just above the eye.
I have shot this gun 0ver 600 yards, and those who watched this are shell "shocked".
There are several secrets to get the very best of this cartridge. The .264 winchester can shoot a bullet thru a plod disc and a half. And if you shoot a .270 winchester, you will be lucky if you even make a big dent in the the plod disc. That is when I knew I had a real serious hunting rifle for whitetail deer and coyotes.
Some ask what I personally load and I tell them all. it changes from powder-primer-rifle case age-make of brass. And I can loose a few hundred feet with any of these scenarios.
So, if you want to get the best out of this rifle, you must be a reloader with all kinds of extra tools and have knowledge of ballistics with knowledge of powder and primers to boot.
I personally cuss all the time, but after shooting my rifle, I have absolutely nothing to wine about. Shooting a 100 grain Hornady bullet over 3600 feet per second, does things that no book can really tell a rifle hunter the truth. But I do, and I have done the walk to give you some truth.
So, if you want more ...................e-mail me, and I will try to answer all you questions you might have.

Shooting a High Dollar .22 Caliber Rifle

In the last few months I have been shooting a brand new rifle from Sako Arms. The rifle is the Model 94S Bolt Action .22 rifle. I now have a fiberglass stock bedded to the action with a Leupold Rifle scope to shoot my targets with. The Leupold scope is a 2.5 X 8 power scope with a after market base and rings to calibrate my tests with several different types of factory ammo that I have bought.
The Ammunition(s) that I have used in the last few months are:
Remington Yellow Jackets
Remington Game Loads
Remington Sonic Loads
Winchester Wildcat
Winchester W-W Hollow Point
Elan Target Loads
Blazer Solid Point
Federal Solid Point
American Eagle Solids
American Eagle Hollow Point
CIL Imperial Solid Point
CCI
After all the shooting.............The Remington Yellow Jackets had the largest Group of all. The Game Load was very good. The Winchester-Federal-Blazer ammo were all in the same class with my sako. The American Eagle had very good accuracy with above average feeding from the clip to the chamber.
Overall, all ammo used for plinking cans and balloons were excellent. With a bench rest, I could keep the majority of the ammo in a one each square group at 40 yards. Which I was very pleased with. Every brand of ammo I used, shot a brick of each through my sako. I cleaned the rifle every 500 hundred rounds also.
The CIL Imperial ammo was very good, but not availabe in all sport shops where I live.
Hopefully I will have some more info on some other brand name ammo, in the future.

Exotic Hunts Worldwide
Here we go: hunting this year was tough everywhere I hunted. The weather was continuously changing and this made for a very long and frustrating day.
Lost a few arrows, wore a pair of boots out, and a jillion sores-bruises-cuts trying to hunt. Now I am sitting at my computer for a few months fixing all my gear and let all my wounds heal. So if you need me, I'll be close by updating my site with 2011 hunts and fishing data for all to use.
