Each trip includes 4 nights and 5 days.

Guests will be met at Carrasco International Airport by your host, Saul, and his staff, who will drive you to the lodge. At the Airport the passenger will be assisted by our staff to finish the customs paperwork. During transportation to the lodge guests will be offered soft drinks and beer.
For the rest of the day after arrival you will be free to enjoy the services offered by the lodge and relax before the following days of intensive hunting. In the morning, and for the next five days, the party will leave for the hunting fields. Lunch will be served either outdoors or back at the lodge.

The Hunt
The passenger will enjoy 4 morning hunts and 3 afternoons hunts. Each morning you will have a full breakfast at the hotel and later to the field to hunt duck.

We shall assist guests with Customs formalities for shotguns. Accordingly, 30 days before departure for Uruguay hunters must fill in a form with full details so we may take care of the permits involved.

Maximum pieces to be introduced into our country: 2 (two) shotguns.

Guests need an updated passport. If the passport expires before departure for Uruguay, visitors will have to renew it before travelling.

Visa

United States and European Union citizens do not require a visa. In case of doubt, please contact the nearest Uruguayan embassy or consulate in the area.

Montevideo is the capital of Uruguay. It lays on the River Plate shores, along endless white beaches. The weather is reasonably mild the whole year round. This climate has made our country home to countless species of flora and fauna. For this reason, Uruguay has been disputed over the centuries by its colossal neighbors, Brazil and Argentina.

Uruguay has long been known as the best destination for dove, pigeon, perdiz and duck hunting. Visitors will be amazed by natural fields, rivers, lakes and hills with countless small game.

Dorado and Tararira are fished from early October to end March. These are two of the wildest and largest river predators in Uruguay.

Both are fished by trolling (by boat) or spinning (from the river shores).

Golden Dorados can easily weigh twenty pounds.

Tarariras, which are similar to the Bow Fin Fish, can weigh up to fifteen pounds.

Boga is known by its tasty meat.

Black Corvinas are a very valued catch. Black Corvina and Boga are usually cooked on a barbecue.

During the high season, it is possible to combine a mixed package such as fishing and pigeon shooting in the same area. A fishing day can be substituted by a shooting day or adding days to the tour.

Corvina Negra (September - March) price for sea fishing is not included in the pack.

The Hunts

The Hunts take place in the city of Gualeguay or Victoria, located to the south of the Mesopotamian province of Entre Ríos. In total more than 600.000 acres of private marsh, and unlimited acreage for upland shooting.
Your lodging will be some of four beautifully country homes (Estancias), always depending upon the best area for shooting conditions. Each lodging has comfortable surroundings and excellent service.

After of the “asado criollo” (BBQ) of welcome and a Introduction Siesta, Then you will go shooting doves in the grain fields. The doves arrive to the wood in big flocks, the shooting is very amusing and you can shoot a case of shells. When finish everything is picked up, birds and spent cartridges.

Now is time for a beer and comment the hunt´s day before return to the lodging. In the house the best national and international foods are served, and the excellent Argentinean wine. In the morning, after the American breakfast, the hunt of ducks will come. When you arrive to the blinds, you will see these birds fly everywhere. Pairs, triples and flocks of the 12 species of Entre Ríos.

Your guide will point them in all moment and you will choose the best shot. When the sun is warming is time of concluding the hunt, the ducks are counted, the normal thing is between 20 and 50.
After the lunch and siesta will come the shot again to the dove.

TRAVEL
Travel to this remarkable place is relatively simple and easy - particularly compared to other Argentine destinations. Upon their morning arrival in Buenos Aires, guests are met by a Plumas representative at Ezeiza Airport, assisted with customs and gun clearance and then driven in a large commercial van about two and a half hours north to Entre Rios province for an afternoon dove shoot. No tedious (and expensive) airport transfers and interconnecting flights (or missed connections) in Argentina.

1. Combination Duck, Dove, Pigeon and Perdiz Hunts: Shoot decoying ducks called by your guide from your private blind. Shoot Perdiz over Spaniel Britany or driven by your guide. Add dove and pigeon for the afternoon shoot over sunflower and grain fields to round out an incredible day of wing shooting. The full season is from April to October.

2. Non-Stop dove shooting can be had throughout the day but the early morning and late afternoon and evenings hours are best. There are no limits on doves in Argentina, and the season is open year-round. Skilled shooters should expect to shoot as many as 1000 or more shells each day.

San Ambrosio

It is a Great Mansion located which is 3 km outside of the town of Gualeguay, Entre Rios. This home has beautiful grounds. The hostess is delightful, as are the accommodations. The staff is very attentive, the food and wine are outstanding. The house has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Duck shooting is a 30 minute drive, dove shooting is 45 to 55 minutes. Private rooms per 12 persons.

La Malva

Is a comfortable country home located close to San Ambrosio, combines luxurious rooms with excellent service. Only double rooms available.

El Cerrito

Is located near Victoria´s city which is one and a half hours from San Ambrosio. The ranch is very nice and comfortable.

Los Tolitos

Is also located near Victoria.The lodge is a small ranch. The ranch is very nice and comfortable. Single rooms are available with a maximum of eight people.
All hunting is within 30-45 minutes. The duck can be outstanding and the dove is good to very good.

THE RANCH: Parral Ranch is a nice piece of mixed farm lands, native Chilean forests and high country cover in an extension of 35.000 acres by the foot of the Chilean Andes. We invite you to enjoy upland bird hunting, trout fishing, varmint hunting, night hare and rabbit hunting in our green monster truck and much more at our Ranch. We have the best wild quail hunting and Chilean Tinamou hunting in the territory. Hunt for native perdiz and Chilean Quail behind a team of field boys flushing the birds up for you. Pointing dogs are also available. An abundance of native prairie grasses mixed with fields of grain, natural seeds and native forests present the ideal habitat for upland bird hunting. NOTES ABOUT RED STAG IN THE REGION:
Also known as the CIERVO ROJO , red stag, it is an exotic species in our region. It was introduced into our continent from Europe by late 1900`s and the beginning of the twentieth century for hunting purposes, first inhabiting the region of the caldén (native tree) woodlands in the Province of La Pampa in Argentina and the wonderful Lakes District in Chile.

A few years later the specie invaded the woods in the Andes high country, now being well adapted to that high lands region. It is also found in several spots in the geography of this vast country where he was successfully introduced and expanded naturally within time. With an impressive figure, its size can be larger than one meter and a half up to the shoulders, it has a wide chest, slender and strong legs and in the case of the stags big antlers that change every year starting from the month of August-September approximately.

The quality of the trophy is measured by the quantity of the points, length and thickness of the antlers, symmetry of them, total weight of the head, etc. Its fur is dun reddish in summer and more greyish in winter. It can easily weigh up to 300 kg. when there is plenty of food. The hinds, of a lesser magnitude and weight than the stags, do not have antlers, but offer the hunter a meat with an excellent taste, low fat and rich in proteins, thus being an appreciated prey. This kind of deer is used to live in the protection of the scrublands or woods where he finds his best shelter, he has night habits, he has a great agility to jump and speed to run, he likes visiting watering places to wash himself in the water or mud.

Most of the year the stags live separately from the hinds, but in March and April, when the hinds are in heat in the Southern Hemisphere, the stags and hinds get back together and then the "brama" happens, as it is called in Argentina and Chile, a term equivalent to "bellowing". The hunt of this animal is done in the early hours of the morning or at dusk. The hunter looks for a strategic spot where he can hear the bellowing of the stags and, following the sounds that these produce, he approaches the prey. In Argentina still hunting at night is allowed, where the hunter lies in wait for an animal in a watering place or somewhere previously established and shoots it under the light of the moon.
Rut takes place between March 15th to April 25th presenting several peaks.
We still hunt and stalk.
One of our favourite outings is hunting this specie in the highlands on the Chilean /Argentina border at our ranch San Martin. Camping is also available while hunting the high country.

FEW WORDS ABOUT THE ANIMAL AND LOCATION:
Native to the India, this species was introduced into our country in 1940 in the south of the Province of Santa Fe, with merely ornamental purposes; later on it was taken to the provinces of Buenos Aires, Entre Ríos and La Pampa, where they have reproduced and formed numerous herds. The males have black and white fur when they are adults, they present two straight horns disposed as a V which reach up to 60 cms.

This variety of antelope is a ruminant species which is found in the vast Pampean plains with good pasture. Since one of its abilities is the speed when galloping, they avoid the dense vegetation. Because they live in agricultural regions, it is quite usual to find herds inside the cultivated fields, under the careful watching of the adult females that control the surroundings, and which with the slightest sign of alarm start to move and jump vertically until all the herd starts to escape quickly.

This animal species has a pregnancy period of 6 months, after which the female generally gives birth to just one antelope, and the period of sexual activity usually starts at the end of the summer. The black antelope hunting is done in vast plains during the whole day, and the difficulty is not finding the herd, which is generally easily identified, but approaching the animal so as to shoot it, because since they are found in quite open places, it is very unlikely that they allow the presence of the hunter beyond the distance they themselves think is safe, before they quickly retreat. For this reason, it is usually necessary to approach the animals very slowly and even drag a long distance so as to be able to shoot the selected prey.

Although Blackbuck can be found in several areas from northern Buenos Aires province to La Pampa province, we are convinced to have the best, healthiest and nicest Blackbuck in this part of the continent as well as we are proud of providing a first class hunting service.

In the country, there is always plenty of homemade food and hunters are given the option of choosing their menu. Of course hunters are presented with typical Argentine meals, especially the famous "asado", -barbecued meat- and are able to enjoy the most exquisite products of the hunt itself. Moreover, Argentina is one of the main wine producers in the world and the quality of its products has already spread beyond its borders.
