DOVE HUNTING NEWS
Sunday I drove more than 100 miles to check the condition of the milo fields in which we will hunt this season. The grain is not ripe and the doves are not feeding on it. It is not ready because the rains came about six weeks later than normal this year and the farmers will not plant until the rain starts. The farmers say that it will be ripe by the first of December.
Therefore I do not want to take any reservations until after the 1st of December. We will lose a month of the season but, we will still have 3 months to hunt.
We will have 35 or more milo fields
in which to hunt. They are scattered a large area (more than 50,000 acres)
from east of El Fuerte to the Sonora state line. Also, there are more than
20 water holes that will provide many good shoots.

Wing Shooting

Wing Spotted Dove
Large Mountain Dove
Pigeon (all year round)
Here you will find one of the world’s largest concentration of pigeons, where the plains and rolling hills combine with the rich, irrigated farmland. Hunters help to keep the population down, since pigeons are considered a national plague for the agriculture.
The food supply and the right weather conditions provide a perfect setting for these birds.
Choosing among several targets at the same time, hunters can be expected to shoot from 500 to more than 1000 shells per day.
• Perdiz
• Hare
Uruguay is a virtual “hunters paradise”
when it comes to perdiz hunting. It is exciting to hear the flapping of their
wings once they are spotted by dogs trained to pick-up their scent, so hunters
may shoot the perfect target when they fly away.
You will be able to taste its delicious white meat in various typical dishes.

• Corn Duck
• Picazo Duck
• White Face Duck
Ducks swarm our vast lakes, lagoons and rice fields. The prime duck habitat is in the South-Eastern coast of Uruguay and the North-Eastern frontier (extra charges for ground transport and hotel accommodation).
If you love Duck Hunting and the good life, then Uruguay is your best choice!!!
Fishing

Dorado and Tararira are fished from early October
to end March. These are two of the wildest and largest river predators in
Uruguay.
Both are fished by trolling
(by boat) or spinning (from the river shores).
Golden Dorados can easily weigh twenty pounds.
Tarariras, which are similar to the Bow Fin Fish,
can weigh up to fifteen pounds. Boga is known by its tasty meat.
Black Corvinas are a very valued catch. Black
Corvina and Boga are usually cooked on a barbecue.
During the high season, it is possible to combine a mixed package such as
fishing and pigeon shooting in the same area. A fishing day can be substituted
by a shooting day or adding days to the tour.
*Corvina Negra (September - March) price for sea fishing is not included.
In Autumn (April to July) and Winter (July to September) daily temperatures average 8 to 18C, getting colder in the evening.
Temperature in Summer (December to March) ranges between 19 and 32ºC. There is no snow or a real rain season in Uruguay. Temperatures are in Centigrade.

person: U$S 50.- to be fairly distributed among the field staff.
